There are many details that make this Hofbauer Byrde Crystal Lidded Candy or Compote Dish special and it’s in remarkable condition considering it sets on three little glass birds with tiny beaks and fine tails. The lid handle is also a tiny bird and it has cut glass birds with foliage on three of its six sides, each flashed with a ruby cranberry tint. The rounded sawtooth rim of the lid and dish fit perfectly together for complete closure. Starburst / Sunburst dynamic patern bottom. It’s a beautiful and flawless piece -- Excellent Condition -- that carries a holiday feel.
Please note: in the video I clumsily didn't notice the lid was not properly afixed, so appears off centered. I assure you that the lid fits perfectly centered as seen in the still photos. Sorry about that!
