Antique Stained Worn Ironstone Transferware Dishes
These antique ironstone dishes made in England in the 1800s feature romantic and stately single-hue patterns applied by transfer. This era of stoneware products are durable and made of thick ceramic according to the innovations of Staffordshire potters. These pieces have lasted many years but all show signs of wear ranging from modest to significant. All are stained, some with dark crazing, some have chips and worn edges. These particular transferware pieces are collected by some for precisely the heavily worn, tattered aesthetic.
