Antique English Barbotine Majolica Footed Vase
This stunning 19th century Sand-glazed handmade ceramic vase is rich with details including hand rolled roses in pale pink, foliage overhanging the rim in rust orange and teal blue, a grainy beige sand finish, and three scroll feet giving it a bout an inch lift off the table. The pot-vase is in fair condition with multiple areas of broken tips which is typical for this type of brittle pottery. The breakage is not extensive, but rather matches comparable pieces of this era. There is heavy crazing on the underside but the integrity of the piece is quite sound. The vessel is backstamped “England” alongside three hand-painted hash marks.
Measures 9 inches tall, 8 inches wide with a 4 inch diameter opening.
